The idea
Multiply each digit of the first number by each digit of the second, place each result in its position, then add everything on the abacus.
Example: 23 × 12
- 23 × 2 = 46 (place it in the ones and tens).
- 23 × 10 = 230 (shift one column to the left).
- Total: 46 + 230 = 276.

- Master the times table up to 9×9 first.
